The Tobiano golf course near Kamloops, once hailed as the best new golf course in Canada, is on the open market after the Business Development Bank of Canada won court approval for the sale. The Bank of Montreal pushed the overall Tobiano project into receivership last year.
The 18-hole golf course is listed for $5.5 million with NAI Commercial Real Estate Services of Vancouver. “It’s probably one of the premier courses in the province, if not the country,” said NAI agent Gary Haukeland, who emphasized that it is only the golf course for sale, not the developable land around it, most of which is in single-family lots.
Haukeland said NAI has received "many" expressions of interest from within Canada and overseas. "Maybe we should have listed it at a higher price," he said.
