Montreal-based Leyad invests in Prince Albert mall

Development potential gives deal plenty of upside

Montreal-based Leyad acquired the Cornerstone retail development in Prince Albert for $95 million on June 19.

DEAL | Montreal-based Leyad acquired the Cornerstone Shopping Centre at 15 11 Street East in Prince Albert for $95 million on June 19. Developed by Springwood Development Corp., the mall was owned 44 per cent by Choice Properties REIT at the time of sale. Key tenants include Rona, Michaels and Shoppers Drug Mart. The mall offers 550,000 square feet of space on 80 acres. Several land parcels remain available for future development, giving the deal promising upside for Leyad.
