Since 1982, the BC Export Awards have recognized more than 300 companies and celebrated the growth and diversity of B.C.’s economy.
The event was presented by B.C.’s Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation (JEDI), sponsored by Export Development Canada and put on in partnership with RBC.
In an on-stage interview with BIV editor-in-chief Hayley Woodin Hastings, JEDI Minister Diana Gibson told award finalists and guests in attendance that the province is closely monitoring Canada’s evolving relationship with the U.S.
B.C.’s trade-related priorities for 2025 will include diversification, a focus on value-added manufacturing and exploring opportunities related to low-carbon innovation.
“This is an uncertain and, in some ways, unprecedented time for global trade,” said Woodin Hastings. “Our finalists and award recipients have not only demonstrated resilience, but that leadership, innovation and growth are possible in periods of immense change and challenge.”
