Dark Table has opened in Vancouver's Kitsilano area as the third dining spot from Moe Alameddine and his company, O Noir, where people eat in a totally blacked-out room. The 75-seat establishment has taken over the space formerly occupied by Quattro on West Fourth Avenue.
Alameddine opened his first blind-dining restaurant, O Noir, in Montreal in 2006. Guests to his restaurants make their food choices in a lighted area from a menu, described by the restaurant owner as "fusion Mediterranean."
Customers are led by blind servers to their seats in a totally dark room.
