Independent cannabis retailer Fire & Flower has received conditional approval from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) to open 37 recreational marijuana shops across the province.

Fire & Flower is awaiting final approval for store licenses ahead of national legalization of recreational marijuana in October.

“This a monumental achievement for our company,” shared Trevor Fencott, Fire & Flower’s CEO. “Receiving conditional approval from AGLC is a key step in Fire & Flower being among the first to market as a cannabis retail shop in Alberta.”

The company also has plans to expand to every province, Fire & Flower tells Retail Insider, with a license in Yorkton, SK already secured.
